you should received a rc62 form from cra, and ot does not matter you receive the form or not, the lower income husband or wife still need to treat iit as if you got it.

normally it is taxed at minimal rate and most tax payers will exempted as we all have the basic exemption of somewhere 10k. that is why mostly you do not need pay tax for it. but that is not all the cases.
