加拿大战疫之婚礼歌手

一周前的今天，《同一个世界-同一起在家》全球演唱会，让世界各地同时回响起战疫的歌声。

一周后的今天，《团结更强》全加演唱会，通过加拿大各地超过24个电视、广播和流媒体平台向全国播出。包括著名的CBC、CTV、Global TV、Virgin Radio、iHeartRadio、CityTV、OMNI TV、FX、National Geographic、ABC Spark、Bell Media等。

参加这次演出的，都是加拿大最著名的歌手、演员、艺人、运动员以及社会活动家，他们共同为加拿大食品银行筹款，支援疫情中的加国人民。

全加演唱会的参演人员，我认识的不多，最大名鼎鼎的，应该算是席琳.迪翁（Celine Dion）。

其实，我更喜欢的一位歌手，他叫麦克尔.布雷（Michael Bublé）。作为获得格莱美奖的加拿大歌手，他也参加了一周前的全球演唱会，和今天的全加演唱会。

今年44岁的布雷，出生于加拿大西海岸的一个意大利裔的家庭里。他爷爷非常喜爱爵士乐，买了一堆磁带，天天在家里放录音机。伴着爵士乐的节奏，布雷学会了走路，并在爷爷的鼓励和指引下，又一步一步走上了舞台。

布雷第一次参加新秀歌手赛，虽然赢得了比赛，但因为年龄太小，还不到参赛歌手的下限，而被取消了比赛资格。可能是爷爷为他报名时，隐瞒了岁数。

17岁的布雷，终于有资格参加了全加拿大的青年新秀歌手比赛，获得了冠军。是不是因为他有前科，评委会特地查了一下他的年龄，没有问题。

从此之后，如爷爷所愿，布雷步入了加拿大的乐坛。

歌手之路，十分艰难曲折，哪国都一样。布雷的音乐事业，同样也不是一帆风顺的，布满地雷。

会唱歌的人，太多了；会唱歌的并且爷爷也喜欢音乐的人，也太多了。

刚出道的布雷，最初几年，主要都是在一些歌厅甚至在街头表演，偶尔也在电视上露个脸儿，还录制了几张唱片，不过都是半红不火的。

2000年，布雷为电影《Here's To Life》所作的歌曲，让他获得两个金尼奖。其实得个奖，对他并不重要。重要的是，有一个人也看了这部电影，并且很喜欢里面的歌。

这个人就是，加拿大的前总理，当年61岁的马丁.布赖恩.马尔罗尼（Martin Brian Mulroney）。

老马有四个子女，最喜欢的是老大，他唯一的女儿卡罗琳（Caroline）。这位卡罗琳，日后还真是有出息，现在担任安省交通厅的厅长，一位正局级干部。

那年，从哈佛大学本科毕业的卡罗琳，刚从纽约大学法学院博士毕业不久，老马就开始为自己26岁的宝贝女儿筹办婚礼。

老马一句话的事儿，就把布雷给请来了：让他担任自己女儿婚礼的主唱。

可以想象的到，能来参加前总理宝贝女儿的婚礼，都是些什么样的名人啊！连美国前总统布什都来了。只不过，所有参加婚礼的人，都必须签署保密协议，包括工作人员甚至后厨。

好莱坞的华纳兄弟公司，有一位大牌音乐制作人，他叫大卫.福克斯特（David Foster），也来参加婚礼了。他有多大牌，看看他曾经签约过的大牌歌手就知道了：

麦当娜，布兰迪.诺伍德，惠特尼.休斯顿，迈克尔.杰克逊，席琳.迪翁，芭芭拉.史翠珊……

世界上还有比他更大牌的音乐制作人吗？

在婚礼上，布雷演唱了一首Kurt Weill的《 Mack the Knife》。这把刀，撬开了他的音乐之门。

这位顶级的音乐制作人，眼力与听力，确实不同凡响，他非常赏识并看好布雷。婚礼一结束，他就拉着布雷来到华纳，签约旗下的唱片公司，并于第二年开始监制发行布雷的歌曲专辑。

布雷的音乐事业由此起色并发展起来，那次婚礼可以说是个转折点，因此很多加拿大人都称他是“婚礼歌手”。

上周在全球演唱会上，麦克尔.布雷演唱的是一首1966年沙滩男孩的热门单曲《 God Only Knows》。

其实，布雷好听的歌曲太多了！我不知道他为什么会选这一首？

刚来加拿大的那些年，可以说，是布雷的那些歌曲，一直在伴随着我，度过了那一段艰难的日子。

在我小小的iPod上，至今还留存着好几首布雷当年流传很广的歌：

他的《Close Your Eyes》，带着我去寻找，黑暗中的光明。

相信今天晚上，我们省的交通厅长卡罗琳，当年婚礼上的那位新娘，也会带着她的四个子女，在家里的电视前，聆听布雷的演唱。

在疫情期间，举办婚礼，恐怕是一件违法的事情。不过，也不急。卡罗琳的女儿要等到十年后，才会长到当年母亲当新娘的年龄。

十年后，布雷的大儿子23岁了，他会成为卡罗琳女儿婚礼上的主唱吗？
