加拿大商业分析项目解析

我在上一篇文章和大家探讨了新加坡的商业分析项目：新加坡商业分析项目解析。关于新加坡的申请案例在这里，标准的学霸和GPA2.5 GMAT630的学渣都该怎么讲Story？值得注意的是，学渣同学虽然GPA不高，分数也不高，但ta的策略是非常对的。那就是通过多申请一些国家和地区，最后给自己多一些选择。我也一直也是这样鼓励大家的。

如果按照留学国家的顺序推荐，我认为是美国 加拿大 英国。最近有一则新闻大家应该也看到了，美国大选当天移居加拿大搜索量暴增7倍。疫情以来，美国人就把目光投向了加拿大。抛开政治不谈，这两个国家有很多的相似之处。比如都是移民国家，文化相对都比较包容多元，华裔在这两个国家都占有相当的比例。如果你想移民，又正好想读书深造，我认为加拿大绝对是一个很不错的选择。

我今天只把我认为还不错的项目和大家探讨，如果你们认为有一些其他的好项目可以写在下面我们留再讨论。根据目前现有的世界大学排名，比如USNEWS 世界大学排名和QS 世界大学排名，加拿大排名前200的有7，8 所学校，无一例外这些排名中很重要的一个衡量标准就是学术（商科的大家我还是强调你们仅作参考就可以）。今天我选了几个学校来分析，如下。

University of Toronto 多伦多大学

多伦多大学每年发表的科研论文数量仅次于哈佛大学，主要学术贡献包括但不限于：干细胞及胰岛素的发现，电子起搏器、多点触摸技术、电子显微镜、抗荷服的发明和发展，NP完全理论，以及发现首个经核证的黑洞，现代深度学习和人工智能的发源地。

Master of Management Analytics

该项目时长两个学期，是给没有工作经验的人准备的。课程的重点在于combines analytical depth with a focus on business issues and applications.

关于申请人本科背景的要求：degrees in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, Economics, and Commerce will be preferred, but degrees from any program where there is a significant quantitative and computational component will be considered.

对本科背景的倾向性

The Master of Management Analytics - Toronto marries training in core data analytics concepts and tools, with outstanding education in business strategy and management. It includes extensive review of the fundamental mathematical and statistical theories and methods that underlie modern analytics, but with a practitioner focus.







关于加拿大的申请攻略，之前有童鞋写过：不去美国读BA，却拿到与哈佛比肩的offer。PS： 我一直都希望一对一的同学自己来写申请攻略，身在其中，给大家的借鉴意义会比我写的更大。一般申请结束后我会邀请大家来写，但不是所有的童鞋都愿意参与，是的，哈哈。这样的情况下我才会考虑我来写。所以我想说的是，公主号里目前现有的案例并不是全部。希望大家在申请和生活中永远以自己为核心，不要过度比较自己和他人。就算本科背景一样，分数相仿，专业相同，但每个人得到的结果也不尽相同。

关于申请商业分析对本科背景的要求我还想说一遍，要看这个项目的侧重点以及所开设的学院，一般情况下开设在商学院下的项目对背景是没有硬性要求的，除非你是非常纯的文科背景，这样就只能尽量在其他方面进行弥补，比如实习，工作经验，前提课程等。

加拿大的商业分析我认为是值得申请的，唯一的弊端和新加坡一样，就是学校数目太少了，如果只申请加拿大又好像缺了那么一点保障？不过这也是我为什么在一对一的设置中没有对国家和地区进行限制。我建议大家在疫情的这种特殊情况下不妨做个back-up plan,比如美国和加拿大一起申请。
