PROJECT MANAGER (ENGINEERING & R&D)
As Project Manager, you are central to the growth of this fast-paced multi-disciplinary team. Your team will rely on you to manage the organization of key engineering projects and accomplish project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities. You will be responsible for planning, reporting on,and championing projects from ideation through to completion. Collaborating cross-functionally with our design engineers, scientists, and executives, your role in the company’s evolution will be highly visible and impactful.
Working directly with our R&D team, you will be the tip of the spear for one of the most well-prepared, calculated shots ever made towards obsoleting tobacco products.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within the scope, and within budget
Discern resource needs across multiple projects
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage any changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
Set the pace and track performance, keeping an eye on both short and long-term goals
Coordinate and serve as a point of contact with internal resources and/or third parties/vendors for on-time project delivery
Preparing clear and concise technical reports to communicate ongoing project management findings with team members and company executives
Take a sleeves-up approach whenever necessary to deliver results
Qualifications:
PMP certification is a significant asset
Bilingual Mandarin is a significant asset
BS or MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Nanotechnology Engineering preferred
Strong background in Project Management or Project Administration
3+ years of experience in a technical work environment, preferably with an engineering or product development company or research laboratory
Toolkit:
Prior knowledge of vaping products an asset
Prior knowledge of PM tools such as Asana, Jira or Microsoft Project
Prior experience in electronics labs, and/or research settings a significant asset
Willingness and ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills is a must
